About Me

Like so many others at the start of my career, I was unsure of what to do when I finished my education and found myself working in a variety of different roles.

Throughout my early career however, one thing stood out for me – an empathy for people, and a desire to help others.

Finding relationship building and people management extremely natural, as well as rewarding, for a large proportion of my career I worked in Sales management and Customer Service roles within corporate businesses.

This did not fulfil my ambition to do something that I was truly passionate about, however. Therefore, with the children grown up, I decided to take the plunge and follow my heart and instinct.

Having always had an interest in natural and holistic therapies, with a mixture of both excitement and trepidation, I took the first step towards gaining my Reflexology qualifications – I enrolled onto a Reflexology course!

Qualifications

I carried out my training at the Inspira Academy of Reflexology, gaining a distinction in Clinical Practitioner Reflexology (CRM5 Dip).

This qualification is recognised as the highest standard in its field, and my training allows me to build bespoke treatment plans for clients with a wide range of specific medical conditions.

Unlike traditional methods of reflexology, I was trained in the innovative method of Duopody. This allows me to treat both feet simultaneously, ensuring that the client receives a more balanced treatment and healing.

Reflexology incorporates many different techniques and methods which can be introduced into a treatment plan, depending on the client’s specific needs.

Here are a few of the techniques that I have been trained in, and can be incorporated into treatments for you if appropriate:

  • CALM Technique – Caring, Attention, Leading to Mollification. Unique to Inspira, this technique is designed to help treat both palliative care and stress related conditions, it requires a much lighter touch.
  • NeuroEndoPsychoImmunoPody (NEPIP) – Again, unique to Inspira, this technique works on understanding the psychology and pathology of stress and eustress and their effects on illness and health. It is beneficial to those seeking support with stress, anxiety, and their related symptoms.
  • Palliative Care.
  • Universal Technique, developed by Chris Stormer. This can help clients release emotion and unburden negative thoughts using a gentle and nurturing touch.

In addition to my Clinical Reflexology, I am also qualified to apply Facial Reflexology, Advanced Facial Reflexology, and Zone Face Lift techniques.

I completed my training at the London School of Reflexology, where I was taught by the award winning and renowned facial reflexologist, Ziggie Bergman.

The course is the only ITEC (International Therapy Examination Council) and VTECT (Vocational Training Charitable Trust) accredited facial reflexology course in the UK. Both of which are not only recognised in the UK, but globally.

The Bergman Method has also won the AoR (Association of Reflexologists) award for innovation in reflexology.

I am a proud member of the Association of Reflexologists, and am committed to continuing my professional development, through attending regular courses and continuing research. The AoR hold strict codes of conduct, to ensure all members practise at the highest level in reflexology.
